RING OF FIRE BMTX 2

About midweek I came down hard with some stomach issues.Anything I'd eat would go straight thru me.Made it hard to not only recover from the last race but tough to any training for this one.Almost didn't show but once I got there talking to other racers realized I wasn't the only one, must be something going around. It was cold and windy once I got there made it tough to get going. The course was about 3/4 pavement a little bit of singletrack and 1 muddy section and the last 1/2 mile was a grassy climb back 2 the start and 2 barriers 2 cross.I actually didn't feel to bad once I got my first lap down.I started reeling people in and that kept me going.I think I finished around 6/8th so I'm happy with that considering the circumstances! I got in6 laps again.I can't wait for better weather to get out on the road bike and getting in some long rides.1 more race in this series. Next up training for6 hours of warrior creek!

Yea its that bada$$! The guys down there doing the work get major props from me!Luckily wifey registered me for Valentine's day!Good thing because its full!Don't be hating if you missed the boat the trails are worth a drive down to get a ride in.

FIRST RACE OF 2010/ BEDFORD MTX #1

The bedford mountaincross series.I 'll admit i wasn't looking forward to this race. With very little riding because of the weather i didnt know how i would respond to going hard for a hour. Then throw in the mud just to make it harder.Kenny done a great job with the course despite the conditions. No barriers this time! The course had 3 places were you could make some speed. The paved section at the start,a greasy, rocky downhill and 1 less muddy section in the field the rest was deep sticky mud only getting worse with every lap.I finished 10th I'm ok with that.I was 1 of 10 people who done 6 laps.I felt pretty good throughout the race my heart rate was staying pretty steady my legs felt strong considering i rode hard the day before.I passed one guy going into the woods on the inside of a turn which was pretty sweet.I love passing someone without them or me having to slow or pull off to the side.I was able to remain upright didn't bonk no mechanical s and finish in the top ten.It was a great day!It was also great to see all my teammates and friends out there. Now i have to decide weather or not to change my tires for the next one.

DANVILLE TWEAKIN

Met Chris, Skip and Brian to head to the anglers ridge trailsystem to get our singletrack fix.We hit the trails hard and fast like Ron Jeremy working overtime. You could tell Globel Warming had hit Danville pretty hard the trails were greasy and worked over like a 12 piece bucket of kfc at a Jackson family reunion .The flow b!+th slaps you in the back of the head like a shortchanged pimp after a bachelor party!A good time was had by all.We all took our turns out front and the trash talk was aplenty. That's what I've missed most this winter is just getting out riding with friends not worried about nothing but the ride.Tommorow Bedford mtx.

STUCK

Tired of this mess its become a huge inconvenience getting stuck on the way home getting my tractor stuck clearing the road only to have it covered the next day by more drifts.I've become very efficient with a snow shovel.I think I'm gonna leave it and a chain in my truck. Its gonna be a tough year for racing with the weather and the economy being in the sh*'@r.What I'm looking forward to most is just getting out and riding with friends.I feel like I've got a lot of ride time to make up.Haven't had a lot of that this winter.Sunny day's are ahead!

GOT OUTSIDE!

Broke free from the trainer and hit the road today from my house.I got some nice curvy backroads to ride right up the road from my house. The tricross was the weapon of choice today.I love this bike I set it up 1×9 (42×11-34)and it works great for the riding I do its low enough to hit some singletrack with but still high enough to crank out some speed on the road.Anyway I done a 13 mile loop.1hr ride time.easy pace. The wind was kicking, drifts on the road but it was awesome just to be out there finally.I'm craving some singletrack hardcore!Looks like its gonna be the road for a while though.

SMACKDOWN

Stan 355s,American Classic Hubs check.FSA 29,44(soon to be 42)(Spring)check.New drivetrain no.Not until spring!Gotta save them penny's dis year folks! No sense on wiping out new gears in the mud. This will be my race steed again this year.I must say it is one of the fastest bikes in the world.29 inches of m5 aluminum smackdown coming to a race course near you.

DROID

My new joint.I do most of my blogging from it.It is awesome but sometimes the technology scares me should I wrap aluminum foil on my head when I sleep at night? (So it don't download evil thoughts in my head)Is there an app for that? Are aliens responsible for the technology and using it to track our habits, thoughts? Hmmmmmmm.Hows the riding on Mars? Can I skip the a$%l probing?
